Coach Training
The Competent Coach
This immersive training programme is designed around the ICF core competencies, code of ethics and core values and provides 71 hours of coach training. The Competent Coach is focused on whole person coaching in organisational, personal and work settings. Delivered in an online classroom setting, this programme brings a mix of coaching principles and models, psychological mindedness and theories as well as a focus on experiential learning. The foundational aspect of the programme is based on theory. However, it is the heavy focus on experiential learning and practical application which supports learners in developing a deeper understanding of coaching skills and mindset with the confidence to use it.

This programme provides strong foundations of core coaching skills and competencies in a way that learners can build on it with other modalities as their progress on their coaching journeys.
This coach training programme is delivered entirely online through live immersive training days, series of masterclasses, 1:1 observations, written feedback and mentor coaching in small group sizes.
Modules
Module 1
Core Skills
Our core skills module focuses on creating a strong foundation with an understanding of the fundamentals of coaching, history of coaching, coaching industry and future, understanding difference between coaching and other support professions, introduction to the ICF, benefits of coaching and ICF research backing benefits. This module introduces the ICF core competencies and various approaches and models that provide a different learning lens and experience to explore the competencies through a coaching model.

This module includes coaching demonstration with the opportunity to practice, observe and feedback.
Module 2
Deep Dive
This module focuses on deepening the understanding of ICF core competencies and delivered through a series of five masterclasses. Each competency domain is covered in detail, with group discussions, short practical exercises, other models and theories to invite and support exploration of each ICF competency. While module one of The Competent Programme introduces ICF competencies, module two is designed to stretch and challenge learning and understanding of the core competencies, through practical application and examples.

This module includes coaching demonstration with the opportunity to practice, observe and feedback.
Module 3
Building confidence and competence
This module focuses on building competence through reflection and review of current understanding of the ICF competencies and evidence of feedback received on the application of competencies through practice coaching sessions. This module provides another opportunity to look at how we show up as coaches as we demonstrate these competencies and some signs and indicators to recognise the presence or absence of these competencies in our coaching sessions. This module includes coaching demonstrations with the opportunity to practice, observe and feedback.

The other aspect delivered through this module focuses on building confidence as a coach. Exploring and defining confidence and looking at various aspects that support confidence and how you present yourself as a coach while staying connected with your own values and purpose.
Mentor coaching
This programme also includes mentor coaching which is focused on deepening understanding and demonstration of the ICF core competencies, supporting students to sharpen their skills and build their confidence as a coach. The programme fulfils the 10 hours of coach mentoring.
